What
is a Public Charter School?
Charter schools are
public schools created and managed by members of the community, under a
contract with the state. ECHS
at Arvada operates under contract from the Colorado Charter School Institute.
Charter schools are free
public schools. There is no
tuition charged. Enrollment is
open to all students, subject to available spaces.
As public schools,
charter schools are also required to adhere to all public school laws,
accountability measures, and the historic role public schools have played
in promoting education in a democratic and pluralistic society.
More information about
Colorado charter schools can be found at the Colorado League of Charter Schools
Website.
